How to convert HEIC to JPG

  1. Select HEIC/HEIF photos from your iPhone export.
  2. Adjust quality and convert. The HEIC decoder loads only when needed.
  3. Download the JPG files for Windows, Android, or the web.

What is HEIC?

HEIC is the common file extension for HEIF images. Apple uses it as the default iPhone camera format because it stores high quality in less space than JPG.

iPhone and HEIC

With Camera Format set to High Efficiency, iPhones save HEIC files. They open smoothly in Apple’s ecosystem, but many Windows apps, websites, and messaging tools still prefer JPG.

Why convert to JPG?

  • Preview photos on a Windows PC
  • Pass JPG-only upload validators
  • Share photos with people on any device

Metadata and quality

We decode pixels and re-encode to JPG. Some EXIF or edit history may not carry over. Use the quality control when you need sharper output or smaller files.

Compatibility notes

The HEIC decoder loads only when needed. Unusual HEIC variants or damaged files can fail; you will see a clear error instead of a broken download.
